Portico at One Scottsdale Takes a Gold Nugget Grand Award for Multifamily Design

Arizona picked up one of the most visible design honors in the housing industry this summer. Portico at One Scottsdale, the luxury condominium community developed by Belgravia Group and designed by KTGY, won a Gold Nugget Grand Award for Best Multi-Family Housing Community in the 20 to 30 dwelling units per acre category. The Gold Nugget Awards, presented at PCBC, recognize design across the western United States and internationally, and KTGY’s July 31 announcement listed Portico among five Grand Awards the firm received this year.

The project team included Maris Construction as builder, Collectiv on landscape design, and Wood Patel as civil engineer, with KTGY handling architecture and interiors. Portico sits at 19355 N. 73rd Way within the One Scottsdale mixed-use district in north Scottsdale.

The community delivers 112 one- to four-bedroom residences ranging from about 1,178 to 2,784 square feet, arranged as four residential floors over a parking and lobby level. KTGY’s design pairs modernist massing with a desert palette: smooth stucco, perforated metal panels, steel sunshades, and deep woodgrain accents on a concrete structural frame. Interiors lean into sandy wood slats, sandstone details, and muted tones drawn from a desert sunrise. Amenities include a clubhouse, fitness center, pool and spa, fire pit, community kitchen, and pocket parks. Belgravia and KTGY marked completion of the community in March.

Concrete-frame condominiums with large floor plans and four residential levels over podium parking are a demanding plumbing and mechanical environment. Every residence carries multiple full baths, chef-grade kitchens, and often dedicated mechanical space, and the podium transition concentrates risers, domestic water distribution, and drainage in a way that rewards careful coordination with the structural team. Awards like this one signal where the Arizona market is heading at the high end, and we pay attention to the design language because it tells us what the next generation of owners will expect behind the walls as well as in front of them.
